Beyond Coping: The InterBeing of Buddhism and Neuroscience Retreat

We are delighted to announce our upcoming retreat, Thursday September 28 to Sunday October 1, 2023 at Dharma River in Mount Forest. Registration is now open.

Dharma teacher Jo-ann Rosen who many of our Sangha know from her EMBRACE workshops (Embodying Mindfulness-Based Resilience and Community Empowerment) will be joining MPC’s Dharma teacher Tuyen to lead this retreat, with Melina and Ameeta assisting. Together we will look through Neuroscientific and Engaged Buddhism lenses to get a new angle on how to find stability and joy while facing the many challenges in the day.

We encourage you to register as soon as possible to reserve your spot. The number of attendees is capped at 45 to create a spacious environment with 25 indoor spots and 20 outdoor so please indicate on the registration form your preference. We request that participants arrive and stay for the whole retreat, from Thursday evening through Sunday’s closing circle after lunch to lend full support to the community and reap the benefits of this experience.

Indoor accommodations are wait-list only at this point.

We hope you will join us for a Day of Mindfulness with Jo-Ann Rosen before the retreat.

Registration Fees

  • $175 indoor accommodations
  • $100 camping (bring your own equipment)

Registration fees can be e-transferred to: mindfulnesspracticecommunity@gmail.com. (Please indicate the transfer is for this retreat)

Once you register and send payment, we will process your payment and send you a confirmation email with further information and instructions.

Cancellation policy: Full refund up until September 18, 2023

Dana (generosity) is a foundation of the Plum Village tradition dating back to the time of the Buddha. Registration fees do not include program fees. We invite you to consider an offering to the Teachers consistent with the benefit received and your personal means. A donation box will be available at the retreat, or e-transfers can be made through MPC.

Continuing in the spirit of generosity, we will enjoy working meditation practices and everyone will be asked to contribute to breakfast, lunch (the main meal of the day) and a lighter evening meal, setting up and cleaning up.

Our retreat requires many hands and hearts, please consider how you can volunteer to help our organizing team.
